Join Tracy Littlejohn and Heather Quackenboss, members of the YWCA’s local facilitator team, for an in depth, interpersonal, and interactive learning experience to explore racial identity, the history and systemic nature of racism, intergenerational trauma, and the dynamics of power & privilege. Heather and Tracy will guide community members through these topics over the course of three 6-hour consecutive Saturdays, beginning April 23rd.

The Enduring Families Project, a  La Crosse historical theatre project, and the La Crosse Public Library will present the stories of 19th Century Black Barbers of La Crosse via a free ZOOM presentation Thursday, February 17th at 6:00 PM.

The Waking Up White Regional Read which is hosted by the La Crosse Public Library in conjunction with the Waking Up White Collaborative kicked off on August 16th and will continue through mid-November.  The Read will distribute 1000 free copies of the book, host 9 Public Presentations, and 20 small group facilitated BookChats.

The Wisconsin Black Women Empowerment Conference presented by AllThatJazz will be taking place on Saturday August 28, 2021. This event will be held in La Crosse, Wisconsin at Viterbo University Fine Arts Center (900 Viterbo Dr. La Crosse, WI 54601). This one-day event will be filled and focused on the Black women’s experience. Black women from across the state of Wisconsin are coming together to share their wisdom on how we all can become better versions of ourselves, whether that is working your way up in your company, starting that business you’ve always dreamed about, or becoming a healthier and happier you.

Join us Thursday, August 19th from 11 AM to 1 PM at the First Congregational Church, located at 2503 Main Street La Crosse. The WAFER Food Pantry Truck will provide food items. School supplies will be distributed. A mobile Covid-19 vaccine clinic will also be available.
