The Minds Unleashed Unconference is a symposium that centers the needs of neurodivergent* students in higher education and here at Western Technical College, specifically. Our goal is to improve neurodivergent students’ feeling of belonging on campus through building faculty and staffs’ ability to better serve this student population.
Minds Unleashed will host multiple speakers with lived experience of neurodivergence and educating neurodivergent folx, opportunities for participants to talk with each other about applying what they have learned, and, most importantly, opportunities to hear from students themselves. The Unconference will also host a neurodivergent space where neurodivergent students and participants can process the joys, difficulties, and complexities of their identities as we further explore what it means to build community.
*The term “neurodivergent” includes (but is not limited to) folx with ADHD, those on the Autism spectrum, folx with Dyslexia, those who have a learning disability, and/or those who have a mental illness. You do not need to have a medical diagnosis to identify as neurodivergent. We value and honor self-diagnosis.

Lunch and Snacks will be provided
As this event is open to the public, filling out a registration form is required for this event.

While attendance for the full day is recommended, you are not required to attend all sessions and are invited to attend the sessions that work within your schedule.
