You’re invited to our next educational session taking place virtually, on the last Wednesday of this Month of May!

Self-reflection and actionable personal growth are key elements to deconstructing oppressive forces in our daily lives. This discussion-based workshop will introduce participants to prevalent characteristics of white supremacy culture that show up and persist within our professional structures and environments. Resources for further introspection related to personal dismantling and decolonization of the way we look at and perform professionalism will be provided.

The goal of AAMAN’s (the African American Mutual Assistance Network) Spiritual Program is to help an individual deepen their relationship with the Lord, to look to Him for direction, and/or to learn and grow in their own personal spirituality.

Our soul is a living, growing thing within us.  Like the body, it needs to be taken care of to be holistically well and prosper. Spiritual Advising can be a path to clarity in your faith walk.

AAMAN’s Spiritual Program is a relationship with a combination of Clergy Persons, Mature Christian Mentors, Wise, Grounded, and Led-by-the-Spirit Persons with whom to have a conversation and pray about what is happening in your life.  Our Spiritual Program relationship can, however, compliment other spiritual resources on our faith journey.

AAMAN’s Spiritual Program is anchored in Biblical Truth for listening, discernment, prayer, contemplation and spiritual companionship in a confidential setting of compassion and encouragement.

If you would like to explore AAMAN’s Spiritual Program as a way to enrich your life, have questions or need Spiritual Advising, please https://aaman.online/spiritual.

All Are Welcome: Celebrating Community Diversity and Resisting Racism

Join community leaders, neighbors, and city officials at Weigent Park as we celebrate the official placement of “All Are Welcome” signs at all La Crosse public parks. City leaders will make brief remarks to be followed by children’s activities. Please bring your family!

Background:
Recently, residents of La Crosse have encountered elevated levels of racism and xenophobia, targeting people of color, in general, and immigrants and Muslims, in particular. In one instance, a man shouted “No Muslims allowed!”  at two women of South Asian descent and their young children, while they were at the Weigent Park playground. In response, La Crosse Parks & Rec. created new “All are Welcome” signs for all of La Crosse’s public parks.

We are planning an inaugural public event for these signs at Weigent Park on Saturday, April 25th at 3pm with the Mayor and others, denouncing such acts and supporting our diverse neighbors. This is part of a broader community-wide visible initiative to foster healthier multicultural communities.

We hope you can join us and help spread the word!

Please Join us for our first Lunch & Learn of 2020!

During this presentation, attendees will learn about White Privilege, and what this means as individuals.

Registration is limited, please register today so you don’t miss this valuable training!

We are honored to have Heather Quackenboss as our Guest Speaker. Heather is the Human Development and Relationship Educator with Extension La Crosse County.
